MR. FOLAMI LUKMAN AINA — DIRECTOR, CHIEFTAINCY

A Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration (IPAN), Mr. Folami was born in Lagos on the 22nd of July 1964. He was enrolled at Ladi Lak Primary School Apapa for his primary education in 1970 and obtained his primary six certificate in 1976. For his secondary education, he proceeded to Awori College, Ojo, where he obtained School Certificate in the year 1983.

His quest for more knowledge made him to proceed to Ondo State University (now, Ekiti State University), Ado-Ekiti where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in the year 1988.

Mr Folami’s avid thirst for knowledge made him to enrol at Lagos State University for his Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and obtain an MBA (Financial Management) in year 2002.

His first place of work was National Directorate of Employment (NDE). He was employed as Loans Officer from January 1990 to April 1992.

He joined the service of Lagos State on the 15th of April, 1992 and has served in various tax offices, where he rose to become Chief Inspector of Tax at the Board of Internal Revenue.

He moved to the main stream as Chief Administrative Officer in the Ministry of Finance in February 2008.

In year 2009, he was deployed to Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) as Head of Administration where he was promoted to Assistant Director, after which he was moved to Local Government Establishment, Training and Pensions Office (LGET&PO) in 2013.

Between 2014 and 2017 he was the Director Establishment Matters at LGET&PO. In September 2017, he was moved to Judicial Service Commission as Deputy Director, Admin. & Human Resources.

In February 2018, he became Director, Admin & Human Resources at the Lagos State Enforcement Training Institute (LFTI) before his present deployment as Director, Chieftaincy Affairs, Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs in 2019.
